On the basis of tests,and slaking deformation theory for reference, the particle breakage is mainly caused by spherical stress and deviatoric stress under certain stress state and deviation stress is studied from the view of stress level. The calculation model which fits for percentage of particle breakage is built up. Also,the empirical formula is determined through the relation between particle breakage model parameters and stress level. The parison suggests that the fitting results achieve reasonable agreement with the experimental results. Finally the stress distribution of the sluice chamber is analyzed to guide the engineering practice which is of great value for practice.
