The diferent stress and deformation features,displacement and mechanical properties of geogrids are pared with normal condition. The results show that the retaining wall has large deformation. Earth pressure at the back of wallincreased evidently on the places where stiffned by geogrid. There are some tension stress zones between geogrid in the reinforced retaining wall. And tension stress zones expand significantly afer the damage of geogrid. Above conclusion is confirmed by the field survey and analysis on collapse accident of the reinforced retaining wall after rainstorm.
