At last, the method that manual excavated pile used in upper part and driling by blasting in pile tip is adopted which improved construction speed and reduced the cost. Abstract:Due to the limitations of original design and change of building function, the original story height cannot meet the requirement. As a result, the mezzanine floor need to be demolished and the mezzanine steel beams need to be lifted by 700 mm.In order to meet the architectural and structural requirements,it was determined to replace the original steel beams. The new steel beam was connected to the original steel columns by connections with enclosed steel plates around the column.The application and monitoring show that the steel member replacement technology can effectively reduce the welding deformation and ensure the construction quality and structural safety. How to ensure the stability of surrounding rock to carry on a safety construction is the key problem which need to be handled. During construction some phenomena such as rock setlement, too large convergence, twisted steel arch by deformation of initial support and so on happened. On the basis of the site investigation and stress analysis, bining with soft rock deformation mechanism and the analysis of monitoring data, some measures are put forward such as setting temporary invert, following up second lining timely, and bination method of milling digging machine and drilling and blasting method. The engineering practice has proved that those measures applied scientifically have a good effect on controlling settlement of surrounding rock and convergence.
