The “Standarcl for systemisecl building envelopes' is based on the CWCT Standards and Guide to Goodbeen rewritten to take account of new CEN standards in this field. Practice covering Curtain waling Walls with ventilated rainscreens and Slope glazing systems. They have
The Standard:
Sets appropriate levels of performance for use in specific environmentsProvides additional information not included within the CEN Standards
The purpose of the Stanclard is to assist those who specify design manufacture or install buidingervelopes.
The Standard coversthe testing inspoction and assossment of bxuilding onveiopos constructed fromsysterms of ponents. They include but are not limited to:
Rainscreen cladding Curtain wallingbuze6 odos Composite panel systemsWindow wallGlazing screens Glazed roofingDouble skin facades.
The Standard gives the basis for testing and verilying performanco. Due to the many diferent approachedto constructing an sealing building ervelopes iis necessary to determine the appropriate tests nd sequence of testing for any particular construction. Guidance is given on testing principles but judgementis required in determining the most appropriate test regime in all circumstances.
In drafting the Standerd it hsbeen assumed tht the provisions willbe applied intelligentyand thattesting wil be overseen by knowliedgeable specifiers independent witnesses and test houses.
