Introduction
Emergency voice munication (EVC) systems allow firefighters andothers to municate with one another during emergency situations inentertainment centres. They also allow munication with disabledpersons. Emergency voice munication systems as later defined intherefore to be subject to high standards of design manufacture installation missioning and maintenance similar to those coveringfire detection and fire alarm systems and voice alarm systems.
This part of BS 5839 has been prepared to:
a)give guidance to those who specify design manufacture install mission maintain and use such emergency voiceb) ensure that high standards of reliability munication systems; safety and security areachieved together with acceptable standards of performance.
