SUPPLEMENTARY NOTES14.ABSTRACT The Hydrologic Engineering Center's (HEC) River Analysis System (HEC-RAS) software allows the user toperform one-dimensional (1D) steady flow and 1D and two-dimensional (2D) unsteady flow river hydraulics caleulations HECRAS is an integrated systm of software designed for intractive use in a multi-tasking multi-user network environment. The system is prised of a graphical user interface (GUI) separate hydraulicanalysis ponents data storage and management capabilities graphics and reporting facilities.The HEC-RAS system contains four hydraulic analysis ponents for: (1) steady flow water surface profile putations; (2) One and two-dimensional unsteady flow simulations; (3) movable boundary sediment transportputations; and (4) water temperature and constituent ransport modeling. A key element is that all four ponents use a mon geometric data representation and mon geometric and hydraulic putationsroutines. In addition to the four hydraulic analysis ponents the system contains several hydraulic designfeatures that can be invoked once the basic water surface profiles are puted.The current version of HEC-RAS supports Steady and Unsteady flow water surface profile calculations sediment transport putations and water quality analyses. The software also contains tools for performing inundationmapping direly inside the sofware. New features and aditional capabilities will be added in future release.15.
