Foreword
This translation has been made based on the original JapaneseIndustrial Standard revised by the Minister of Economy Trade and Industry through deliberations at the Japanese Industrial StandardsCommittee as the result of proposal for revision of Japanese IndustrialStandard submitted by The Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers(JSME)/Japanese Standards Association (JSA) with the draft being attached based on the provision of Article 12 Clause 1 of the IndustrialStandardization Law applicable to the case of revision by the provisionof Article 14.
Consequently JIS B 2404 : 1999 is replaced with this Standard.
As for the flanges specified in the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) those originated from ASME Standards in USA(Class designation)and from DIN Standards in German (PNdesignation) are included however those originated from JIS Standards(K designation) are not included. Considering the necessity of specifying flanges of K designation by revising ISO standard pipe flange standardssuch as JIS B 2220 (Steel pipe flanges) JIS B 2239 (Cast iron pipeflanges) JIS B 2240 (Copper alloy pipe flanges) and JIS B 2241they will be proposed to ISO. Introduction This Japanese Industrial Standard has been prepared based on the firstedition of ISO 7483Dimensions of gaskets for use with flanges toISO 7005published in 1991 with some modifications of the technical contents.
A list of modifications with explanations is given in Annex 2 (informative).
This Standard specifies the dimensions of gaskets used for the pipe flanges hereafterreferred to as “flanges°) specified in the text of JIS B 2220 JIS B 2239 JIS B 2240 and JIS B 2241.
The dimensions of gaskets used for flanges specified in Annex 6 of JIS B 2220shall be shown in Annex 1 (informative).
