It determines the advanced supporting measures and support parameters by classification of rock mass. Its core idea is that the deformation of rock mass could be controlled by adjusting the core soil strength and stiffness. This method has been widely used in large tunnels in European countries. While in China, it is still in the exploration phase. Some pre-constraint construction measures using ADECO-RS such as the full-section mechanical pre-cutting technology,pre-cut tunnel lining technology,jet grouting technology, and cellular arch lining technology are elaborated in this paper.
