1主题内容与适用范围
本标准规定了内河运输船、运输辅助船、工程船等（船舶）的分类和代码.本标准适用于内河船舶的规划、统计、管理和信息传输.
2引1用标准
GB8843-88工程船术语ISO8385:1990挖泥船分类
3分类原则
本标准按内河船舶的用途进行线分类，共分大、中、小、细四类，其中个别小、细类以及其他类船项按结构等属性分类：运输辅助船、工程船按GB8843-88分类，其中挖泥船大类按ISO8385：1990中挖土方式进行分类，
4编码方法
本标准采用层次码，用四位数码表示.第一位为大类，其中1~4为运输船：5为运输辅助船：6~7为工程船，其代码结构如下：
