Abstract: According to the safety requirement of a deep foundation excavation engineering in coastal soft soil area, different support methods were adopted in different stages of construction. Specifically, row of bored piles with water proof curtain and cement mixing pile submerged pier, cement mixing pile retaining wall and row of bored piles with steel supports have been adopted. Site monitoring data shows that by proper arrangement of construction process, such as structural construction, well-points dewatering, and soil excavation, the supporting structure was maintained stable and the foundation excavation safety was ensured. The soil loss will not only affect the displacement of the soil above the excavation section,but also affect the displacement of the soil below the excavation section within a certain depth range. The soil between the front and rear piles of double-row piles is affected’ by the soil loss, but the soil behind the rear piles is less affected. Uneven settlement and deformation characteristics of the building base have been analyzed. Finally, the influence rules of shield tunnelling on adjacent shallow foundation buildings has been summarized, which could provide beneficial reference and basis to shield tunnelling and building reinforcement. Construction should be arranged in the dry season,also excavation and retaining timely follow up. After the pile pouring of two sides, the residual pile hole is constructed then. In order to make sure of construction safety and quality, construction must be conducted strictly according to the established plan. Proven results show that advanced support makes higher economic efficiency than the well point dewatering method.
